Data processed and purposes

You can browse the site without creating an account. If you create a Follow-up account, YOUR ANIME SEASON processes your email address, technical connection data, and episode-watching progress to authenticate you and synchronize your anime tracking. Your global YouTube playback choice is stored in your account when you are signed in, or in your device’s local storage when you are not.

Legal basis and retention

Processing needed for your account is based on providing the service you request. Your data is kept while you use your account and then deleted at your request or when your account is deleted, subject to applicable legal obligations. Your YouTube playback choice is kept until you change or remove it from this page; it determines whether videos open on this site or on YouTube.

Recipients and third-party services

Data needed for your account is processed by YOUR ANIME SEASON’s technical providers, including Supabase for authentication and tracking data, Google for Google sign-in when configured, and Vercel for hosting. Follow-up loads Google’s official Identity Services library to display its sign-in button. If you use it, the information needed for authentication is sent to Google and Supabase. You can read the privacy notices of Google, Supabase, and Vercel. Some processing by these providers may take place outside the European Economic Area. Their documents describe applicable transfer mechanisms and safeguards, including standard contractual clauses or adequacy frameworks where applicable.

YouTube videos and playback choice

YouTube thumbnails are displayed through the site’s image optimizer from i.ytimg.com. They may be retrieved while a page is displayed, without loading the video player. When you select a video, one prompt offers two options: “Yes, watch on this site” or “No, watch on YouTube.” The embedded player is not loaded unless you choose “Yes.”

Your choice applies to all YouTube videos on the site. “Yes, watch on this site” loads the selected video’s embedded player; later videos also open on the site without asking again. “No, watch on YouTube” opens the selected video on YouTube; later videos also open on YouTube without loading an embedded player on this site. Your choice is saved to your account when signed in, or on this device otherwise. Use the button below to clear it; the site will ask you again the next time you open a video.

When the embedded player is enabled, a request is sent to YouTube. YouTube may receive your IP address, technical browser information, and the video identifier, and may use its own cookies or trackers. See Google’s privacy policy for details. The saved choice is used only to apply your playback preference to videos on the site.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your data by writing to contact@youranimeseason.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL if you believe your rights have not been respected.
